Train the Trainer: Training Techniques & Course Development | Distance Learning Video Conference

This four-day, 4½ hour per day, intensive workshop is for individual trainers who actively teach craft skills or safety classes for their local and are developing those classes for their local. The course the trainer plans to develop in this workshop should be one they are designing as a one/two-day course. There is not enough time in this session to work on developing a lengthy course or series of courses. The skills learned in session, however, can be applied to longer courses and trainings.

The new and improved course combines essential elements of the TTT: Teaching Techniques course with an updated Course Development workshop. It includes review and practical application of the topics covered in the Train the Trainer: Teaching and Presentation Techniques course; approaches to training-specific content including active learning and critical thinking techniques for in-person and online delivery; online facilitation techniques; selecting materials that connect the learner to content in a meaningful way; and hands-on practice designing outlines and lesson plans.

Participants will submit the topic and a brief description of the craft skills or safety course they plan to work on in class to their locals so locals can include this information with the applications being submitted.
