OSHA 10-Hour Construction with Focus on the Entertainment Industry in Baltimore, MD | Local 487


This OSHA 10-Hour Construction training uses examples from the entertainment industry. It covers Introduction to OSHA; Personal Protective Equipment; Health Hazards; Electrical Safety; Slips, Trips, and Falls; Stairways and Ladders; Scaffolds; Fall Protection; Hazard Communication/Globally Harmonized System; Materials Handling, Storage, Use, and Disposal; Hand and Portable Powered Tool Safety; and Caught-in or -Between and Struck-by Hazards. Upon completion, students receive their OSHA 10-hour Construction completion card.

DATES: September 6-7, 2023

DAILY TIME: 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Baltimore, MD

COST: The two-day workshop is free of charge for participants.

OSHA OUTREACH TRAINER: Anita Hartsock, IATSE TTF Training Specialist, is a member of IATSE Local 22 in Washington DC and was the Director of Education and Training for the Local 22 Training Trust from 2012-2018. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Theatre and Design from American University and has over 25 years of entertainment industry production experience in theatres, cruise ships, television, and rock ‘n roll. She is an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer for both General Industry and Construction, has her Advanced Safety Certificate from the National Safety Council, and holds OSHA's Safety and Health Fundamentals Certificates in General Industry and Construction. She teaches a variety of other classes and is extremely passionate about workplace safety. She divides her time between DC and Denver, and when not working, makes music and swims ridiculously long distances for fun.
