The course covers safe work techniques when working around electrical hazards and tools present in the entertainment environment. At the end of the course, students will be able to recognize electrical hazards and avoid them as well as develop safe use skills and practices of power and hand tools that are used on a regular basis.

  • Introduction to Hand and Power Tools

    • Recognizing hand and power tool hazards

    • Ergonomics

    • Hand tool safety and selecting the right tools for the job

    • Principles for the use of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools

    • Abrasive wheel, fuel-powered and powder actuated tools, nail gun, spray guns, and abrasive blasting tools

    • Tool replacement and storage
