Rough Terrain Forklift Operator
This course makes use of the J.J. Keller training kit and student workbook for rough terrain fork vehicles. The training program is based around a classroom setting, which focuses on specific areas or modules of rough terrain fork truck training for Class VII (rough terrain trucks with pneumatic tires) lift trucks.
Rough terrain truck fundamentals, controls, and engine operation
Operator’s instruction, warnings, and precautions
Differences between rough terrain and standard masted forklifts
Stability, balance, and capacity
Preoperational inspection
Site evaluation, overhead obstacles, and environmental hazards
Steering and maneuvering on rough terrain
Visibility issues
Vehicle attachments, operation, and limitations
Refueling and charging/recharging batteries
Electrocution hazards and overhead obstacles
