Advanced Lighting Networking
The Advanced Lighting Network class provides a more in-depth session on lighting protocols with a focus on SaCN and Artnet and their potential advantages and disadvantages. This class will concentrate on managed switches, their functions within a lighting network, and a demo of their setup. This class includes a more intensive lab on building an advanced lighting control network.

Michelle Jang incorporates almost 20 years of technical experience in film, television, theatrical, theme parks, and live entertainment into her trainings. Michelle has kept up to date on large-scale lighting control systems during her nine years at the Disneyland Resort – holding various roles as: Master Electrician, Lighting Programmer on Mosaic, ETC, and MA consoles, and lead lighting installation and maintenance technician for various shows and spectaculars. Her technical knowledge resulted in Michelle being selected to help open the Shanghai Disneyland Resort as a Technical Specialist-Lighting Supervisor for Walt Disney Imagineering. Most recently, Michelle successfully helped open Super Nintendo-land at Universal Studios Hollywood as a lead lighting install tech. It is Michelle’s goal to help train television and film lighting technicians to have a solid foundation and understanding of networking so that our membership can stay competitive in an ever-evolving, fast-changing industry which will help keep our unions strong.
